Sergio Bonelli Passes

As a great comics fan, I must write this post because mr. Sergio Bonelli deserves it.

The creator of popular Italian comics Zagor, River Bill and Mister No, Sergio Bonelli died earlier today. Son of Tex creator Gian Luigi Bonelli, Sergio often wrote under the name of Guido Nolitta, to disguise his legacy in the field, as well as a female pseudonym, Annalisa Macchi. But he would write many Tex stories in the seventies under his real name and would become editor, then chairman of one of Italy’s major comics publishers, CEPIM, which would be renamed in honour of him as Sergio Bonelli Editore. The publisher who would publish not only Mister No and Tex but also Dylan Dog.

But his real acheivement as an editor and publisher, was in recruiting and first publishing the work of three generations of Italian comic book writers and artists. Without him the Italian comic scene would have been unrecognisable.

Those comics were very popular in ex Yugoslavia (where I was born) and they had a special place in my hart.

Once again… Thanks mr Bonelli and RIP.

Fotolia subscription plans

Its been a while since my last post about Fotolia. Mostly mangiaphoto readers already know a lot about this great agency but it would be very nice to write something about them again. They deserve a lot of attention because in the last five years since I met them, they made a huge step forward.

Two weeks ago I received a kind offer to test their subscription model which is a great option if you need images every day (bloggers, marketing agencies, web site designers, etc…).

Before we start, lets write something about the subscription plans.

Subscription plan is a affordable offer where you will have the lowest price per image download (as low as 14 cents per image). As I said above, it is great option for every day use. With subscription plan, you won’t need credits.

Available options

First you can choose between standard or premium subscription plan. In both plans, you can choose to download from 25 to 250 images per day but while the standard subscription plan is limited to maximum 4Mpix images, the premium plan doesn’t have any resolution limitations.

Also, you can choose between individual or multi user plans. Individual subscription is a great option for small companies with one buyer. Multi user plan is a great option for a large companies where administrator can buy and direct access to sub-accounts. Admin will be able to control downloaded images, number of daily downloaded images, balance number of downloads between sub-accounts, etc…

The subscription length can be 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. Fotolia will offer auto renew option and you can easily disable this option on the subscription detail page on your member area.

For individual subscription plan the cheapest option is 199€ for standard package (1 month, 25 images per day, single user). With this option the price per file is 0.27 €. The same package but for multi user accounts starts from 299€.

If you plan to download vector or video files, keep in mind that one vector file counts as 3 downloads and one video file as a 10 downloads.

Hi to all…

Five years after I started this blog, I found some time to replace the template. I expect some problems with images which are optimized for the old template but in more than 300 posts it is impossible to find them all and replace with the smaller one.

I’m not sure did I wrote about it but one and a half month ago I became a father. A beautiful girl named Tea was born. So, while I’m waiting for her to wake up, I decided to spend some time on this blog. It is almost forgotten and the firs step is to replace the template.

Also the new logo should be presented in the next 15 days.

Neke novosti…

Stotinu godina se nisam prijavio na ovaj blog i mislim da je krajnje vrijeme da se nešto napiše na njemu.

Šta se desilo u proteklih x mjeseci… Svašta. Najvažnija novost je da sam prije 20 dana postao otac. Dobili smo prelijepu curicu kojoj smo dali ime Tea. Nisam htio da se miješam u izbor imena i sve sam prepustio ženi. Osjećaj je fantastičan i nema šanse da se opiše nekome ko još nije dobio dijete… Prvi put kada ti zaspe na rukama, kada se pokaki u krilo, upljuje mlijekom majicu… Ma fantazija.

Takođe, dok čekam termin za flašicu, kupanje, kakanje,… čačkam na jednoj davno zaboravljenoj aplikaciji. Kako nisam imao vremena da sam napravim pretraživač slika, odlučio sam da platim jednog prijatelja za to. Dobio sam kod i aplikaciju koja ima neke bugove i na meni ostaje da sredim dizajn. Za sada nisam uradio puno (osim popravke nekih tripova, CSS-a, …).

Za sada evo link gdje se može vidjeti app koji koristi Dreamstime API.

Ista aplikacija je predviđena i za Fotoliu samo što ne smijem obe kombinovati u jednu jer uslovi pod kojima se koristi njihov API ne dozvoljava direktno poređenje sa drugim stock sajtovima…
