Fotolia API Services

logo_resize.gifFotolia has created an open Application Programming Interface (API). This API has made it possible for creative people to earn more money through affiliation (Partner API), to integrate Fotolia to your products or services (Business API) or to build applications (software, plugins, widgets) to simply improve the Fotolia experience (Developer API). There are so many possibilities with this tool, and if you have a knowledge, your door is open.

Fotolia API is available in three different types.

  1. Partner API
The Partner API allows people to create their own image bank and earn money through our affiliation program. With the API, they can search the Fotolia database, display results on their own website, and generate revenue through our affiliation program. The best services will be listed here.
  2. Developer API
The Business API allows businesses to integrate and offer Fotolia services to their customers. This is an ideal solution for printing and online template companies who can produce customized on demand items to their clients completely automated.  The API will allow a business to search the fotolia database, display search results and purchase images through their own website. The best Fotolia service integrations may choose to be listed here.
  3. Business API
The Developer API allows a creative person to design new applications such as modules, plugins, software, web services, or widgets. The API can also help to build a product or service to enhance or change the Fotolia user experience. The best applications will be listed here.

Complete project is still very young and I can’t find it in use so we need to wait and see how integration process goes. Maybe in next few months we will have WordPress, Joomla or Drupal plugins for Fotolia. Complete documentations is still short and you can find it on Fotolia. (new window)
