Nikon D40x preview
Four months ago, Nikon announced D40 and here we are with a new version of that camera. The new model - D40X, has the same compact lightweight body and easy to use control layout and it is very similar to D40. Nikon decided to swap the D40’s six megapixel CCD for a ten megapixel sensor. This provides a lower base sensitivity of ISO 100 and shooting frame rate has gone up from 2.5 fps to 3.0 fps. Based on the specs and features this camera could be main Canon 400D (known as Digital Rebel XTi in North America) competitor.

Just like I said before, only difference between D40 and D40x is in new big 10Mpix sensor, lower base sensitivity (ISO 100 vs ISO 200), faster continuous shooting and ISO 200 option is included in Auto ISO. If noise reduction is turned on, continuous shooting is slower then 3fps.
