Olympus E-P1 is coming
The Olympus DSLR market size has grown almost 50% on every year since 2004, and they still continue to bring good news for us. The main part is regarding the E-P1 specs. Olympus was completely forgotten on middle class cameras. It was probably caused by problems with development and production because these models were too expensive for marketplace in that time.
They didn’t do anything in this camera class since Olympus E-1 and it looks like
E-P1 specs:
- World most effective anti-shake system (Max 5 Steps) (Did they mean Stops?)
- 10MP High Speed Live MOS (5fps)
- Live View with multi angel (sic) LCD
- Dust reduction
- Splash proof body (like it was on E-1)
- Wireless flash control in 3 groups
- Quicker and more accurate World quickest with SWD lenses (I’m having trouble believing that one)
- 11 points all cross sensor (Ok, impressive)
- Better low light performance 2EV@ISO100
- Better continuous AF
- High speed shooting (5fps, 1/8000, X=1/250)
All these infos cames from fourthirdsphoto.com. Somebody over at fourthirdsphoto.com has leaked a PDF (unfortunately unavailable right now) from Olympus European business meeting dated 5th of June.
Other things include release dates for the SWD lenses:
Zuiko Digital 70-300mm f4.0-5.6 - October
Zuiko Digital ED 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 SWD - November
Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm f2.8-f4.0 SWD - October
Zuiko Digital ED 14-35mm f2.0 SWD - Spring 2008
Teleconverter EC-20 - October
Wireless flash system is built into the E-P1 and with new versions of the FL-36 and FL-50 (Called FL-36R and FL-50R) means that wireless flash is simpler and easier than before. It seems that summer will be very hot
