Shutterstock Footage Price Change

According to informations available on Shutterstock forum and published by Shutterstock founder/CEO Jon Oringer, footage prices will be lowered on Dec 26th, 2007. As he said, they have watched the footage/video space carefully over the past two years and they have decided that lowering their prices will lead to increased sales and higher commissions for all of footage submitters. The prices will change as follows:

$10 Low Resolution (240px)
$30 Standard Definition/PAL/NTSC (480px)
$40 High Definition (720px)
$50 High Definition (1080px)

Their model works on volume at a low price, and this new pricing structure better reflects that. If you’re afraid about this, you can opt-out your footage files from sales and wait. Good idea is also to watch the forums.

This change will not take place in isolation; it will be supported by new marketing efforts aimed at increasing awareness for Shutterstock Footage as a resource for high quality royalty-free footage clips.

At the end, lets say that Shutterstock has more than 43 000 royalty-free video clips and they add more than 400 clips every week.
